about

Bach Prelude No.1, backwards.

Part of soundtrack for 'CONSTELLATIONS HALF-REMEMBERED'.
Heard in the entrance to the last of ubiquitous UMAMI Dance performances this summer.

Premiere at Parallel Public Works in Burien, WA on 26/27 July, 2013.

Commissioned by choreographers Aiko Kinoshita and Aaron Swartzman, UMAMI Dance.

The dance piece is based on memory and its fragmentation. I played this piece hundreds of times as a young teenager, often at lightning speed. This time it's very slow, and backwards.
