about

Amy Denio's second solo CD. She'd recently discovered a great passion for language, and here one can find songs in a variety of languages ~ including her own improvised tongues.

Recorded at home in Madrona, Seattle in 1993. She sang here and played electric bass, accordion, guitar, alto sax, programmed keyboards, and invited guests Marjorie de Muynck (RIP) and Charley Rowan to sit in on several songs.

Artwork by Dennis Palmer (Chattanooga, TN).

Track Name: Six
When we were six a day was endlessly long
and the sunshine sent spokes through the clouds
when we were six we had secrets and games
and we still remembered how to play

When we were six we had a language of our own
and we sang simple songs to our ourselves
when we were six grown-ups had their own world
completely apart from our own

please pass the whiskey, I think I'll have one more for the road
I don't feel nothing anymore, I don't feel anything
Track Name: Exiles
Leave your home
cease the pain
memories shape your house
all you have

Peace will come
Hold your hope
Memories shape your house
All you have
