Chicken’s heaven could be a nice place But there’s a white wolf there, said the puma Get on my back and hold on tight Dream some colorful wonders you crazy fire Različite duše su pale na Zemlju. Neki su postali zmajevi, neki su postali ljubitelji zmajeva. Njihova deca su bila mistična stvorenja. A sada moje čarobno dete puma zmaja čini svjt snjajim njegovim čudima. (Various souls fell to Earth. Some became dragons, some became the lovers of dragons. Their children were mystical creatures. And now my magical puma dragon child makes the world shine with his wonders) It’s brilliant, marvelous, gorgeous, even in the dream It’s brilliant, marvelous, gorgeous, lighting up our being

Novi Sad 03:29
Arrived by train in Novi Sad Our host Djordje put us on a bus He rode behind us on his bicycle He waved us off for the stop to the Yellow House Novi Sad, so beautiful Falling asleep to the strums of the tamburica orkestar Silver tones floating up to the moon On the Duna Tito died, war was born Djordje fled to Amsterdam To drown his pain, he changed his course Traded his bicycle for the white horse Darkened minds, blackened skies Will we ever above this rise? Hate is a habit hard to break When all is done for god's sake

Petoljubac 05:12
Samo jedna ljubav čini dva ljubavnika. Ali dva plus tri ljubavi čine petoljubac (Only one love makes two lovers. But two plus three loves make 5 kisses/a pet.)

Ruža zna Ruža zna zašto Suptilne niti koje sudbina plete Prilagodite njihovu snagu iza naših leđa Ispravljanje naših posrtanja Dok se ne zna nepoznato Klatno koje visi preko peska Stvara spirograf kada se kreće rukom čoveka Ali haos zemljotresa će stvoriti savršenu ružu (ENGLISH) The rose knows The rose knows why The subtle threads that destiny weaves Flex their strength behind our backs Righting our stumbling ways Until unknown becomes known A pendulum dangling over a bed of sand Makes spirographs when moved by the hand of man But the chaos of an earthquake will create a perfect rose

about

These are love songs inspired by my friends and experiences in the Balkans. The songs wrote themselves. I was the vehicle/vessel.

I offer this music to the world with a prayer:
May we improvise with strangers,
May we keep learning.
May we act (create) and not react.
May peace prevail.

Kultur Shock returned to the Balkans in April, 2019, and I'm still reverberating from the experience.

We played 19 concerts from Poland to Greece.
On concert days we loaded our ton of amplifiers, instruments and baggage into the venues, sound checked, sampled local specialties then played delirious concerts. Then we'd hang out with friends old and new. When it was time, we'd pack up and load out our ton of shit back up the stairs, sink into sleep, resume our positions in our 9 places in the van the next morning to see what would happen next.

We had many powerful encounters and experiences this time. My heart seems to explode in those lands. Since my first visit to the Balkans in 1990, I've felt a magnetic draw that words can not describe. Fiery-hearted people (and maybe some dragons) shape shift in this magic and surreal land.

These 4 songs sprang to life in the last 17 days. My brother Paul 'Cheoketen' Wagner (Saanich Tribe, Turtle Island) says 'Songs are hunters. Each song searches for the right person to bring it to life.' That best describes the experience of creating these songs. They've literally held me captive for the last 17 days.

The song titles provide the chord changes for each song. A few years ago I created a code in which every letter of the alphabet corresponds with a tone. These 4 songs are based based on the resultant musicality of the titles. My task was to make sense of the decoded cipher.

Caveat: This is my first attempt to write lyrics in Serbo-Croatian, enjoy the errors! So hilarious, if I translated my English text into Serbo-Croatian line by line, the translation was one way. But when I translated the entire text body, the language changed all over the place.
Poetry vs. prose...Jebiga!
Thus the title.
