AD: The Seattle Sound

about

In 1994 Pino Saulo commissioned me to create an audio piece for his Battiti program on RAI3 (Italian National Radio). He requested an audio piece featuring 'local sounds, like fishing, or water'. Seattle's Grunge scene was peaking right then so I decided to create my own 'Seattle Sound'.

I went on a walkabout to capture sounds, visiting Seattle haunts such as the University District and the Pike Place Market. My friend Rar Jungle came along on the adventure. Later I composed and recorded multi-instrumental music and vocals to weave everything together.

The Seattle Sound was broadcast on various national radio stations throughout Europe.

I dedicate this piece to my dear friend Kimberly, whose voice appears at the end.
