about

First of six songs recorded on 30 December, 2012, as part of the 'Needs More Songs' lodge of the Immersion Compositoin Society.

lyrics

Dreamt about a city rising over the water
hummingbirds were feral, fighting over the feeder
Little birds, do you flock in herds?
No, in this case eah one on their own
Little birds, do you hear what I heard?
Jets are leaving contrails again.

The day before it rains
the plans leave traces of butane
Clouds of mystery straight lines overhead
Slowly fall in the windless sky, I think I'll go back to bed

Dreamt about some buildings, perched high over the roadways
Roadways crisscrossing, nary a human in sight
Little birds what do you prefer?
Flying backwards, or flying upside down
Little birds did you hear what I heard
The hiss of a chemical plane fart

Dreamt about some people, televisions for heads
Sparks flying from antennae, the way they talked made me dread
That I didn't know if the sparks would ignite
the feathers of the hummingbirds to continued to fight

I dreamt I dreamed I dropped a doppler
I dreamt I dreamed I shopped for gawkers
I dreamt I gawked at all the shoppers
running by making doppler
